Call to Action: Brother Gilbert Carter

Brother Knights,

This weekend, I visited our Brother in Christ Gilbert Carter in Room 140 at the Westwood Health and Rehabilitation Center at 625 Ashland St, Archdale, NC 27263 where he has been staying for the past 2 weeks. Mr. Carter was in good spirits and we prayed a rosary together before his son arrived to deliver some items from his home. I didn’t have time to get the full details but plan to visit again soon and find out more about his current condition. I encourage all of our Brothers to take some time out of their busy schedules if possible to visit our good Brother Knight who could use not only prayers but our good Christian fellowship during this time. There are no set visiting hours and the Center seems to be very lax in allowing people to enter and leave as long as you sign in. I will post updates as I get them.

FREE Webinar

Attention Brother Knights!

We have TWO opportunities to satisfy our fraternal benefit nights. We need BOTH of them to qualify for the STAR council, an award we have never achieved.

PLEASE look at the attached flyer and REGISTER for one of the two of the webinars. Not only is it needed for our STAR council but more importantly, will help you to begin to prepare for retirement no matter what your age, and also as you approach retirement, to help get your ducks in a row. This webinar is FREE. He does NOT try to sell you something but can meet with you and your family personally and help direct your goals and planning.

Call to Prayer: Brother Knight Arthur McAdoo

Brother Knights,

Arthur McAdoo is undergoing surgery for a partial right knee replacement tomorrow 4/5/22. Let us call on the intercession of Blessed Fr. Michael McGivney and Our Lady for the success of the operation and a swift recovery.

Blessed Fr. Michael McGivney,

We entrust Brother Knight Arthur McAdoo to our Heavenly Father’s care this day.  Please intercede on his behalf, that our Most Merciful Lord may guide with wisdom and skill the minds and hands of the medical people who minister in His Name, that our Brother may be restored in health and spirit so that he may continue to worship and serve in charity, unity, and fraternity. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, in unity with the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Our Lady of Victory, pray for us!

Healing our Heroes

The Knights have an opportunity to support veterans on Saturday, January 15th at 10AM. The Veterans support group is called Healing our Heroes based in High Point. They need assistance chopping down two large oak trees and removing the logs from their property. The property is located at 1600 Bridges Dr. in High Point.

Patrick Freeman and Nate Combs are representatives of Healing our Heroes. The property is the former John Wesley Church Camp. Healing our Heroes rents this property that has about fifteen buildings. Most of the buildings are dilapidated. A couple of the refurbished buildings house needy veterans. There is a dining hall that will seat about 100 people. The dining room is updated, but the kitchen is not usable. There is also a large auditorium that could seat hundreds.Healing our Heroes recently purchased another property on Oak Hollow Lake. They have tentative plans to use that property as an RV park.

Healing our Heroes is looking for Knights to help on Saturday, January 15th at 10AM at 1600 Bridges Dr. in High Point.
